Version 2.0 of OAMP Webform and Survey Modules for OpenCms 8 available at alkacon.com

Alkacon Software - The OpenCms Experts

Version 2.0 of the popular OAMP Webform Module is available now for download from alkacon.com. Moreover there is a new version of the OAMP Survey Module, which is based on the Webform Module. They extend an OpenCms 8 installation with the capability to easily create highly configurable online input forms without knowledge of HTML. In OpenCms 8 a webform or a survey could now be added to any page just by Drag & Drop. With the ADE Editor all changes are made directly on your website.

With version 2.0 HTML formatting is done with the popular java template engine StringTemplate. The model-view separation makes the Webform Module more flexible and maintainable. Changes to HTML generation get displayed without restarting your servlet container.

Both modules support the most popular database applications (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Important new features in version 2.0

  • Create a Webform or Survey in OpenCms 8 by Drag & Drop
  • With the ADE Editor all changes are made directly on your website
  • Integrated report pages
  • PostgreSQL database support
  • MS SQL database support
  • New mechanism to generate form output using StringTemplate, providing better control over generated HTML code

The modules are available with full source code and documentation.

All Alkacon OAMP modules are released as full Open Source under the GNU GPL version 3. The source code of the modules is freely available on https://github.com/alkacon/alkacon-oamp.

Alkacon OpenCms source code now hosted on Github

Alkacon Software has moved its software repository from CVS to Github. Github is based on the popular distributed revision control system (DRCS) Git. The web-based hosting service Github is very popular amongst Open Source Developers.
Alkacon Software has chosen Git as revision control to keep its software development process based on the best available technology (since CVS is technically out-dated) and to achieve a better collaboration with the OpenCms community.
The source code of OpenCms is now available from Github at github.com/alkacon/opencms-core.
Build tags follow the schema build_x_x_x and selected branches of older OpenCms versions since 6.0 are still available.
The source code of the Alkacon OAMP modules, as well as several OpenCms utility libraries, will be made available on Github as soon as possible.
